The Handbook of Security

by Mark Rowe

Food security, cyber security, terrorism, organised crime, intelligence, CCTV, piracy and private military companies are among the topics of the 44 chapters in the 1000-plus pages of the second edition of The Handbook of Security. It’s newly published by Palgrave and edited by Prof Martin Gill, pictured.

It’s divided into seven parts – disciplines and security, offences, crime and security in sectors, researching security, security products and services, security and its management, and critiquing security. UK authors of chapters include Martin Gill himself on CCTV effectiveness, and a final round-up chapter considering contradictions in private security management; Dr Alison Wakefield on security officers; and Prof Joshua Bamfield on security and risk management. It’s a hardback, and available as an ebook.
