The Security Institute is holding a late afternoon members event at University Centre Blackburn College, on Wednesday, September 12. It will start in the LEC Theatre at 4pm and finish at about 9pm.
Security Institute Chairman Mike Bluestone CSyP FSyI, institute Director of Learning Ken Livingstone FSyI and Andy Rhodes, Lancashire Police Assistant Chief Constable, Special Ops, are invited speakers, to give their perspectives on the current situation of the security industry.
This will very much be a ‘Security Institute in the North’ event, held alongside the launch of the Foundation Degree in Security Management by the University of Lancaster at Blackburn College (which incorporates the learning outcomes of the diploma in Security Management). This new qualification provides students with:
– Student membership of SyI throughout the period of study;
– A Foundation Degree and the Institute’s Diploma in Security Management on completion of study; and
– Automatic progression to full institute membership, subject to application, vetting and minimum work experience requirements.
Those attending this event will be able to pick up six CPD points. Members of the Security Institute can attend at a price of £20 and guests are welcome at £25 per head. Invitations are also extended to members of ASIS, DISA ,RSMF, PISF, AUCSO, BSIA, IPSA, ADS and ASC.
