Anniversary party

by Mark Rowe

To mark the 60th anniversary of the US-founded international security management body ASIS, the UK chapter is having a party in London on Tuesday, November 10. To be exact, it’s at Bangers Wine Bar, 2 Wilson Street, EC2M 2TE (between Moorgate and Liverpool Street Tube stations) and starts at 6pm.

The network video camera product company Axis Communications are sponsoring the event, which is in aid of the charity PTSD Resolution, which supports war veterans (and their families) suffering from combat-related stress. The event costs £15 for ASIS members, £20 otherwise; wine, beer and ‘traditional British food’ is included.

Meanwhile earlier that day the chapter is holding a CPE Day, aimed at holders of ASIS’ CPP, PCI and PSP certifications. The day on the theme ‘Securing the Building’ is hosted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch at their Financial Centre, 2 King Edward Street, EC1A 1HQ in the City of London (nearest Tube; St Pauls). Chartered Security Professionals (CSyPs) are also welcome to attend. Organisers say that numbers are very limited and if you do not hold one of those certifications but would like to attend, let ASIS know by emailing [email protected]; and if there are spare places, any ASIS International member is welcome to attend.
