LINK, Crimestoppers partner

by Mark Rowe

The UK cash machine (ATM) business LINK have renewed their partnership with the crime-reporting charity line Crimestoppers. Last year a “Protect Your PIN” initiative was launched as part of the partnership to ensure the public remain alert when using cash machines and become less likely to be victims of this crime type.

New projects are being looked into for 2014 to continue to promote public safety when using ATMs in and around the UK. The partnership began in 2008 and has led to many campaigns focused on helping protect the public from cash machine crimes, including card scanning devices, by raising awareness of this crime.

Graham Mott, Head of External Relations for LINK, said; “We are delighted to continue our relationship with Crimestoppers. Helping to keep ATM users safe is a key objective for the whole ATM industry and Crimestoppers and the LINK reward scheme are a major part of this. We look forward to continued success in the fight against ATM crime as we move forward together.”

And Rodger Holden, Director of Business Development for Crimestoppers, said: “All crime matters to us. Card fraud and physical attacks on ATMs are of great importance to LINK and affect members of the public; so as a charity we will continue to help LINK increase the quality of information we receive in this area to help reduce this crime type.

“Community safety is at the heart of all that we do as a charity and we are delighted that we can continue to support this responsible banking network in helping the general public stay safe.” Visit https://crimestoppers-uk.org.
