Westec Perimeter Security Seminar

by msecadm4921

Following recent work on the security of Solar Farms in the South West of England, Westronics invited a number of delegates to attend a seminar detailing a case study on how Westronics protected one of these sites.

Westronics invited suppliers who worked with them on the project to present and answer questions, in an ‘ask the panel’ format, on the equipment used to protect the Solar Farm. Suppliers who attended included FLIR, Dallmeier, GPS and Unipart Monitoring. This project was a finalist in the ‘Best Security Project or Installation’ at this years IFSEC awards.

Delegates were involved in a seminar based around how Westronics were given a plan of an empty field and designed and installed a reliable, efficient, and eco friendly perimeter security solution, protecting a site producing millions of pounds of electricity a year. Attendees were shown the advantages of using thermal cameras, microwave fencing, onsite recording and off site monitoring services.

Westronics Managing Director Graham Miller said “The seminar was a huge success with delegates from a varied range of industries from waste management to universities attending and learning how to install a cost effective, robust and green security solution to combat cable theft and damage to valuable infrastructures.

Westronics will be running another Westec event later in the year.
