BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LSE: BVC; TASE: BATM), a provider of real-time technologies for the networked telecoms and medical laboratory equipment markets, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Telco Systems, has been selected to provide its MPLS solution for networking Yongin’s, a South Korean city, libraries, administration buildings and city-wide video surveillance (CCTV). The project was awarded to Telco Systems through Diznet, the Company’s authorised reseller and a supplier in South Korea of services such as consultancy, network implementation and after-market sales support.

Yongin, one of the fastest growing cities in South Korea and with a population of almost one million, selected the Company’s CE 2.0 compliant end-to-end solution, including a T-Marc demarcation product, two products from the Company’s T-Metro aggregation platform product line and its EdgeGenie service management system. The provision of this end-to-end MPLS to the edge solution is in-line with the Company’s previously stated strategy for the Telecom division to offer a complete solution for Carrier Ethernet Access, following the launch of the EdgeGenie service management system.

Mr. MyungSik Choi, Network Manager, YonginCity, commented: “Yongin chose Telco Systems and Diznet to build its resilient, flexible and scalable MPLS network. They offered us the combination of high quality, easily managed, cost-effective solutions, and a state of the art feature set including local support.”

Dr Zvi Marom, Chief Executive Officer of BATM, said: “We are pleased to establish a presence in another new, growth market. By adopting our Carrier Ethernet/MPLS network technologies, Yongin will be able to rapidly deliver new managed services with guaranteed service quality to reach new levels of capacity, scalability and reliability – all of which are necessary for a vigorously expanding city. In addition, this will be achieved at only a fraction of the cost of traditional models. We look forward to the successful delivery of this contract, which we hope will enable us to be selected for other similar projects in the city going forward.”
