Ridgefield Park, NJ (May 1, 2012) – System integrators, resellers and other attendees who participated in this week’s Samsung IP video surveillance training session in Southern California were treated to a high tech, multimedia learning experience. According to session instructor Dr. Edward Wassall, Samsung’s Director of IP Product and Business Development, the Samsung IP Institute (SIPI) was conducted in Chino, CA at the new demo and training facility of Thomasson Marketing Group (TMG). TMG is one of Samsung’s manufacturerrepresentatives for the western region including California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii.

“TMG’s new facility is state of the art and enhances our ability to provide in-depth training on IP systems and technology,” said Dr. Wassall. “This new multimedia room is designed with innovative features that allow us to deliver the higher-level knowledge and support solutions that are critical to understanding and designing IP systems.”

TMG’s training and demo room measures 650 square feet and can accommodate up to 24 persons. Twelve Samsung cameras and two Samsung 40” LCD monitors are suspended from an overhead truss system. A seven-foot installed rack holds Samsung’s SRD-1670DC DVR and SRN-1670 NVR along with a 19” Samsung LCD monitor Control of the DVR, NVR, camera menus and pan/tilt/zoom functions are managed by the Samsung SPC-6000 System Controller. The room additionally features a projector and screen, a 4×4 matrix system, USB console ports, hubs and switches. TMG’s video system supports remote access via the network, iPhone or AndroidTM apps for TMG or Samsung staff.

“The versatility that is designed into our new facility allows for a more professional style of training and sales demonstrations,” said Jordan Thomasson, President and CEO of TMG. “Presentations can be customized to communicate the performance and quality of the Samsung line and create a stronger presence for them in the region.”

The Samsung IP Institute addresses the growing need for higher level technical expertise in the expanding IP video integration space. IPVN or IP video networks have become the norm in video surveillance and the need to provide basic mid-level technical network design expertise has never been more important than the present. The SIPI training provides basic design skills for technical sales, security rep firms and integrators in order to provide a scalable video network for a small to midsize client. In addition to the expertise gained in the class, all participants, upon successful completion, will receive 15 CEC’s which can be utilized for industry recognized certification such as ASIS and BICSI.
