KINGS SECURITY SYSTEMS REPLACE ATM’S ON SHELL UK FORECOUTS

by msecadm4921

Late last year Kings Security Systems Ltd tendered for a contract to replace 34 ATM cash machines to Shell UK forecourts across the UK. Once we were awarded contracts for the installation we contacted the outgoing Independent ATM Deployer to tender our services for the removal of their ATM’s.

We were able to tie in the removal of the old ATM’s for Cashzone at the same time as installing the new ATM’s for Bank Machine which could be operational the same day.

Kings Security Systems were awarded these contracts not just for competitive pricing but also for our experience and the ability to provide a completely in-sourced solution. When it came to the Health and Safety Risk assessment review the external auditor commented that he had never finished an audit so soon or given such a high rating.

The benefit to the client, Shell UK was that there would be far less intrusion to the individual sites and less people to manage. We were able to project manage and

co-ordinate all aspects of the changeover. Rather than having separate companies looking after the removal and installation it was now just Kings coordinating the 60 plus activities required for each site project. This also minimised any security risks and ensured there was no loss to customer service.

To enable Kings to carry out the works we were subject to extremely stringent Health and Safety audits managed by Artelia which spanned over a couple of days, The audits and restrictions required employees to be specially trained on new health and safety procedures and techniques to ensure we were able to meet the high standards required by Shell from our administration procedures through to installation.

ATM Removal:

The ATM’s were decommissioned and removed from site. Once Kings had brought the units back to our warehouse facility we were able to carry out the Vocalink compliance process which includes wiping of the hard drive and re-fitting of the PC Core. The units were then stored here awaiting further instruction from the client.

ATM Installation

The new ATM’s were delivered to Kings premises where a team of experienced operatives were able to carry out a software load and pre-staging of each unit. We were then able to prepare the router, apply the decals, provide a plinth and get the ATM live prior to leaving Shell UK’s site.

The new ATM was a different size so we had to adjust the aperture to get it and the new type of collar in to make it DDA compliant under the new guidelines. The installation involved build works on the aperture, bolting both the plinth and ATM into place, changing the locks, confirming the ATM is operational and performing a site handover.

Shell UK was delighted with the work that was carried out within a 3 week timescale. Kings Security Systems are now on Shell UK’s list as an accredited approved supplier for any future projects.
