The Queen on her jubilee tour of the UK faced a surveillance blind spot on a visit to Exeter Cathedral, where she would have been for 15 minutes with crowds around. Devon Police brought in installers John Fricker and Sons, supplied by Pelco distributor PTS Security of Derby. John Fricker told Professional Security: ?We supplied and installed a Pelco Spectra dome, mounted on the wall overlooking the route. Using a digital video recorder with ISDN transmission we relayed the images and control of the Spectra back to the Devon county CCTV control room. Staff there used a PC and flat screen to view and control the Spectra thus providing the extra surveillance they required. After the visit we recovered the equipment.?
