The Government is running a 10 week consultation on a new ‘Respect Standard for Housing Management’.
According to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, this not only aims to encapsulate the core components of an effective response to tackling anti-social behaviour and delivering respect but also builds on the achievements of some housing managers who are leading the way in dealing with anti-social behaviour, it is claimed.
The ODPM adds that its proposals will encourage social landlords to sign up to the standard thus, the ODPM, says ‘signalling their commitment to helping to create, sustain and improve places where people feel bound together by shared values and where anti-social behaviour and disrespect for people and local environments are not tolerated’.
