Golf Resort Access

by msecadm4921

Lough Erne Golf Resort in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, has chosen a SALTO electronic access control system to provide security management for its hotel and lodges. The resort awarded the contract to County Antrim-based SALTO Inspired Business Partner Ambar Systems Ltd.

The 600-acre Lough Erne Golf Resort has two championship golf courses, set on the shores of Lower Lough Erne and Castle Hume Lough.

Accommodation comprises 120 guest rooms made up of 53 hotel bedrooms, two Deluxe Suites, two Lakeview Suites and two Courtyard Suites and 25 Luxury Lodges each exuding a country house style. Other facilities at the resort include a restaurant, bar, library, drawing rooms and Thai Spa.

"With an established track record of providing secure access control for several luxury hotels in Ireland and many others around the world, the SALTO solution was ideal for Lough Erne Golf Resort," says Kieran Gorey of Ambar Systems.

"Working in consultation with SALTO we designed a highly secure and flexible access control system using 85 E9011085LP5 units and 25 A965OU00IM8 ANSI SSS units in a brushed stainless steel finish meeting all of the requests of the resort. The advanced system design incorporates proximity Mifare operation, anti-vandal protection to safeguard the electronics, which are housed in the inner backplate, on the inside of the door, battery life good for up to 45,000 openings and each lock can support up to 64,000 users," Gorey adds.

The E9011085LP5 units will control access to 85 bedroom doors in the main hotel and the 25 A965OU00IM8 ANSI SSS units will integrate with a 3 point locking system already fitted to the doors on the 25 external lodges.

"To have done this with fully on line doors as part of a fully hard wired solution would have been prohibitively expensive, but through the architect and client opting to use our stand alone locks which ensure the highest levels of security, they will achieve 90pc of the benefits of a fully on line access control system for just the cost of a stand alone solution," says Aznar Sethna, Area Sales Manager Northern Europe for SALTO Systems.

"As a new hotel security was an important part of this project from the outset," says Patricia Donohoe of Lough Erne Golf Resort. "We needed an efficient, easy to use system that is flexible enough to grow to meet our future security requirements and that’s exactly what we’ve got with our SALTO access control solution. It gives us the ability to cancel key cards from the system when guests leave, loose or do not return them and this enables us to maintain high levels of security ensuring a secure and accessible environment for both guests and staff alike."
