Fisheye Camera

by msecadm4921

A fisheye camera has been integrated with Wavestore….

The FE8171V, part of the SUPREME line, is VIVOTEK’s first fisheye camera. It incorporates a 3.1 megapixel true Day/Night camera and is equipped with a fisheye lens for 180 degree panoramic view (wall mount) or 360 degree surround view (ceiling/floor/table mount). The device also provides a field of view that is eight times greater than standard VGA cameras and can thus offer cost savings, where a large number of cameras may be required, such as airports, ports, shopping centres, car parks and much more.

Wavestore’s video recording software enables the recording and display of fish-eye images captured by 360 degree cameras and de-warps images of the whole or specific areas of the monitored scene.

“Since establishing a technology partnership with VIVOTEK in April 2011, our respective technical teams have been working closely together to ensure our mutual customers can get the very best from a combination of VIVOTEK cameras and Wavestore DVR, NVR, and HVR solutions,” said Chris Williams, Director of Wavestore. “Our combined efforts have resulted in Wavestore being the first video recording manufacturer to support the FE8171V fish-eye network dome. The timing could not be better as we have seen in recent months increasing interest from our worldwide network of customers in the financial and operational benefits of deploying 360 degree cameras.”

Based in Taipei, Taiwan, VIVOTEK Inc was established in 2000. “It is our pleasure to partner up with Waverstore as both of our teams work tirelessly to deliver world-class security solutions,” said William Ku, Director of Brand Business Division at VIVOTEK. “Together, we make the world a safer place.”
