Given business opportunities in emerging markets, many executives are taking advantage and travelling to unfamiliar countries to seek out new business relationships. Security awareness consultancy The Security Company have this week published a new set of guidelines to help business travellers avoid some of the inherent risks of international travel on its website….

"Western executives want to take advantage of the opportunities available in partnering or engaging with multi-national corporations within emerging markets," says Bernadette Palmer, Senior Communications Consultant for The Security Company. "But travel within many countries could present significant risks, not least to personal safety. And methods of conducting business in emerging markets may also differ vastly from those adopted by the West. Bribery and corruption, and bugging can also be issues that require great caution."
