Remote Video Response (RVR), the nationwide video monitoring business, reports that it has become one of the first in its field to attain Approved Contractor Status (ACS) from the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
RVR adds that its Approved Contractor Status shows that it has been benchmarked for quality and performance against others in the industry, and met the criteria laid down by the SIA.
Colin Walters, General Manager of RVR, says: “We are delighted to be one of the few to have been awarded this new and important status. We believe that it will give further levels of assurance and transparency to our customers as to the service we offer. The benefits, both internally and for our customers, will be significant. The dispensation for the licensing of up to 15pc of our monitoring staff will give us the flexibility to resource further business growth and take on new contracts even at very short notice.”
The SIA Approved Contractor Scheme is based upon business improvement models: ISO9001:2000 and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model. The scheme also references British Standard codes of practice applicable to the private security industry.
“The defined objective of the ACS scheme is to raise performance standards and assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities,” Mr Walters adds. “We are pleased that we have been benchmarked against the best, and come out on top.”
