Total Security Summit hailed

by Mark Rowe

The Total Security Summit 2013, was hailed as a success after it was held on October 21 and 22, at Whittlebury Hall, Northampton. The event was designed to help security directors and managers involved in the security purchasing process increase their knowledge of why, how and where to invest.

The Total Security Summit’s appointment-based format of targeting only the most qualified, top-producing delegates and bringing them together with suppliers who are pertinent to their needs is say organisers by far the best way forward for creating new business contacts.

Complimentary delegate attendance was limited to 65, to spend a day and a half discussing ideas, projects, issues and new requirements with service providers and their fellows. As well as attending workshops and seminars running throughout the event.

This year’s event commenced with an opening presentation chaired by Mike Gillespie from Advent IM Ltd who discussed ‘Security, out of the IT Department and into the boardroom’, followed by a seminar hosted by David Creswell from the International Security Management Institute who talked about ‘Professional Development in Security Management’. Nikki Samme from Alcumus Group discussed ‘Mitigating Business Risk by Using Technology’and Steve Mellish from Mellish Risk & Resilience Limited also hosted a seminar on ‘Try something new today – Dealing with the unexpected’. Finally, Simon Adcock from ATEC Security hosted a seminar on ‘Integration: What, why, which, when, how and other questions answered’

Some of the confirmed security guests came from: Hilton World Wide, Gleneagles, InterContinental Hotels Group, House of Fraser, Matalan, City Link, SGS, Easy Jet Airline Company, Ralph Lauren, Barclays Bank and Adidas Group.

And suppliers included: Sony, Samsung Techwin Europe, Enigma Security Solutions, IDIS Global, Interserve, Kaba UK Ltd, Atec Security, Clear Image MMS Ltd, Avigilon UK Ltd, System Q and ATG Access to name but a few.
