SSAIB back ST Live

by Mark Rowe

Security Technology Live which runs at the NEC, Birmingham, from May 13 to 15 2014, reports support of the SSAIB for this new event.

According to ST Live organisers Clarion Events, in an age where the security market has become commoditised and the value of electronic security goods is falling, a dedicated security channel event with lower costs for exhibitors and a clearly focused education programme for the channel to learn about new products, standards, accreditation and how to drive higher margins has been warmly received by the security industry.

Andrew Brown – Marketing Manager, SSAIB, said: “As the UK’s leading certification body, SSAIB is keen to maintain face-to-face support for its registered firms, as well as promoting the many valuable benefits of certification to installers who’ve yet to consider it. We’re also interested in opportunities to speak directly with others involved in the specification and buying process. That’s why we welcome the launch of Security Technology Live in 2014 as a channel networking event, since it offers an important chance to explain all the advantages that third party inspection brings and promote quality products and services throughout the industry.”

Security Technology Live point out that the NEC, Birmingham, has over 17000 car parking spaces, a mainline train station and international airport next to the exhibition halls.

Mike Hurst, Vice Chairman – Strategy, ASIS International UK Chapter said: “Whilst there are numerous security events in the UK each year, the Security Channel seems to have been overlooked until now. The ASIS International UK Chapter is pleased to support Security Technology Live and looks forward to exhibiting there in 2014 and beyond.”

Meanwhile Roy Cooper, Managing Director, Professional Security Magazine, has also lent support to this new event: “We’ve worked with Clarion Events for a number of years now on the Counter Terror Expo and we’re delighted to be working with Clarion Events again on the launch of Security Technology Live, an exciting new and dedicated security channel event.”
