ID MD

by Mark Rowe

Richard Wylie has teamed up with Plastic-ID, with big plans for the company in his new capacity as MD.

Richard, pictured, brings ID industry experience, having served as Sales Director with identity card product distributor Securit World and then Essentra (formerly Filtrona) over a ten-year period.

Teaming up with Steve Jones, formerly the IT and network manager at Securit World, they already have clients through the plastic-id.com website. Richard and Steve say they see many areas for the company to grow.

Richard says: “ We have developed a web-based solution for the corporate and education markets where there is a definite movement away from in-house production towards an on-line bureau. We have already seen this trend emerging across Europe. Organisations that need to produce large numbers of cards in a short time, such as universities, no longer wish to invest in large numbers of printers, which are only used once a year and especially when the technology requirements can easily change. Similarly, the large, multi-site corporates can now outsource the whole ID card making process and avoid the necessity of training up a large number of people.”

The firm adds they can produce all types of technology cards and many encoding options, including magnetic stripe, bar code and Mifare.
