Cyber head

Salamanca Group, a merchant banking and risk management business, has appointed Rory Innes, pictured, as Head of Cyber Security.

He joins from Dell SecureWorks, a subsidiary of Dell Inc., where he was responsible for the sales and marketing of information security across the EMEA region. Rory will lead the team in protecting clients from cyber attack. The team provides 24-7 services; the Cyber Security division forms part of the Group’s Corporate Risk Services business, of Corporate Risk Management, Cyber Security and Maritime Security.

As the Sales and Marketing Director at Dell SecureWorks, he was responsible for all demand generation and sales operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has experience of managing teams across these regions and growing information security organisations. Rory started his career at dns Ltd. In 2009 SecureWorks acquired dns.

Martin Bellamy, CEO of Salamanca Group, said: “We launched the Cyber Security division last year in the face of evolving threats to information systems generally and growing demand from our current clients for advice suited to their businesses and lifestyles. Rory’s extensive track record of understanding customer challenges and leading global teams at a formidable organisation like Dell SecureWorks will complement the skills in our existing team. He is an extremely valuable addition to the business and we are delighted that he has come on board.”

Rory Innes added: “Many organisations are struggling with the rapidly changing threat landscape and the burden of compliance and legislation. They often don’t have the necessary skills to run an effective information security operation in house which has potentially damaging results. We can help clients to invest wisely in information security and get the most out of the technology they have by evolving their current people and processes.  This is an exciting time to join Salamanca Group, a company that can draw on a diverse range of skills to protect and enable its clients in an increasingly complex and interconnected business environment.”
