CTX hails 2013 visitor rise

Counter Terror Expo 2013, has hailed a 9pc attendance increase on the 2012 event. The April 2013, fifth edition of the show drew 9264 attendees across two days inside the Grand Hall, London Olympia.

Simon Foster, Head of Sales & Marketing, Air & Ground, said: “CTX 2013 has been an outstanding show for us. The visitor quality has been exceptionally high; predominantly the visitors were there ready to buy. We have taken orders on the stand and made crucial contacts. Excellent show.”

First time exhibitors, Vauxhall took part in the Armoured & Support Vehicle Zone. “This was the perfect platform for us to meet international buyers, and the quality of visitor has exceeded all our expectations. We have already booked our stand for 2014 and are looking forward to returning,” said Dick Ellam, Manager Vauxhall Special Vehicles, Vauxhall Fleet

New at CTX 2013 were feature areas dedicated to; Maritime/Anti-Piracy Security, On/Off Shore Oil & Gas Security and Integrated Security.
The free workshops saw over 60 new products and case studies discussed and there were a number of new demonstrations in the IEDD and Live Team Demo Area.

The conference hosted a number of speakers from; UK Home Office, United Nations, NATO, Europol, LOCOG, Metropolitan Police, UK Border Agency, Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) and National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO).

Private meetings were held by: Tall Buildings Group, NATO, Security Institute, PSSA, ISSA-UK, Major Events International and Sodexo.

An inaugural co-located Forensics Europe Expo received over 3000 visitors.

Joe Lawless, Projects Director, DYNASYSTEMS, said: “I believe that the 2013 Counter Terror Expo has proved to be a valuable return on our investment of both time and money. We have seen a very high level calibre of visitor, the majority of who seem to be buyers.”
