Primary visitors managed

by Mark Rowe

A north London school has a visitor and contractor management system for security and safety of pupils, staff and visitors at Stoke Newington-based Betty Layward Primary School.

The installer Delta Security supplied and fitted an EntrySign system which integrates with all access control systems and provides an intuitive, touch-screen interface.

Terry Purdy, Premises Manager at the Betty Layward Primary School, says the school wanted a system that would give them full visibility of who was on premises: “Prior to using EntrySign we used a number of different sign-in books and procedures. Using the EntrySign system has enabled us to amalgamate all data and print off all necessary reports at the touch of a button.

“Installation and implementation has been faultless; Delta Security also provided our access control system, so we knew their workmanship and professionalism could be counted upon. Also, the EntrySign system is so simple and intuitive to use that it requires very little instruction.”

According to the installers the EntrySign can be personalised to match any corporate identity, is fully compliant with health and safety law and as well as reporting, it simplifies the process of printing visitor passes and has the option of including a signature and photo on visitor badges. Because the system integrates with Betty Layward Primary school’s Salto access control system, staff can still use the same passes, saving the school on set up costs.

The product also lets users pre-book expected visitors and contractors for quicker sign in; it does not use printer ink; and it can monitor staff attendance and time-keeping.

Dave Mundy, Operations Manager for Delta says: “Its ease of use, reporting capabilities and ability to integrate seamlessly with existing access control systems makes this the ideal choice for schools and other sites that need full visibility of the comings and goings of their occupants.”
