Sight & Sound Security officers, pictured, were among winners in the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) London Regional Security Officer Awards 2016.
The Security Personnel Awards serve to recognise the achievements and long-term contributions made by those working within the UK’s private security industry.
Redbridge College won the BSIA Team of the Year Regional award for London.
The team of five, aged between 32 and 50, have been commended for their service while working for Sight and Sound Security Solutions Limited at the north-east London college.
The award citation said that providing security in such an environment requires a level of sensitivity, professionalism and caring, far above the normal requirements of security. The Redbridge College team have built a working relationship with staff from the college as well as other local community services and the police, to positively influence college and community relations.
They have been at the forefront of the college’s drive to help students become more resilient to crime, to be more aware of the benefits of contributing to a safer and stronger community and to reinforce the feeling that the college is a place of safety. The security team has seen it as their duty to help educate students in any way that will help them to develop into mature and successful adults.
