Stoke joins ABCP

by msecadm4921

Stoke on Trent Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRP) has taken up membership of the Association of Business Crime Partnerships (ABCP). Stoke is a long established BCRP having been in operation since 1988, in the daytime and night-time economies across the six towns that make up the city of Stoke.

It also leads on the Staffordshire county-wide BCRP – Partnership Against Business Crime in Staffordshire (PABCIS) ensuring consistency across Staffordshire and managing a central intelligence hub.

Julie Davies, the manager since its beginnings, is supported by two other staff members, both Pauls. Paul number one focuses on local intelligence whilst Paul number two, a former police inspector, focuses on cross border intelligence analysis for the benefit of its members. Ashley, an administration assistant, completes the team of four. Membership is open to any business within the city of Stoke on Trent.

Julie said: ‘We are pleased to join ABCP and add our support to the national organisation in seeking to raise the profile of BCRPs and help in the development of a more co-ordinated and integrated national focus on business crime and it effects on businesses in our towns and cities.’

And Richard Barron, chief executive of ABCP said: ‘We are delighted that Stoke has joined us.  They are a very well established and regarded partnership which is an important part of business crime reduction in the whole of Stoke on Trent.  We look forward to developing a Staffordshire-wide organisation that will make a major contributrion towards business crime reduction in the county.’
