Retail Business Technology Expo runs on March 12 and 13, 2013 at London’s Earls Court, South Hall. Follow http://www.retailbusinesstechnologyexpo.com. The retail show aims to show the true omnichannel nature of payments as an enabler of multichannel retailing by putting cards and payments in the spotlight as never before at RBTE 2013!

In addition to the Cards & Payments Conference Theatre, run in association with Vendorcom, the business critical issue of payments is integral to the whole of the RBTE educational programme, with content appearing prominently in the other conference theatres, and in the Pecha Kucha bite sized industry seminars.

The Vendorcom Cards & Payments Pavilion will host Anderson Zaks, Astro Systems, HTEC, Polar Moment, PSC, Safenet, Security Metrics and Vodat International while payments vendors including Datacash, Handpoint, Ingenico, The Logic Group, PayPal, Phoenix Managed Networks, Servebase, Sumup, VeriFone and YesPay will be found across the Expo floor, demonstrating the latest innovations that will help retailers with their critical payments strategy.

The Cards & Payments Theatre will tackle a range of issues and topics critical to retailers payments strategy. In the Payment Security & Risk Management stream, Jeremy King, European Director – PCI Security Standards Council will be discussing the Future of PCI: Securing Payments in a Changing World, and a panel from a range of organisations, including the Smart Payment Association, Everything Everywhere, TUI Travel and Barclaycard will tackle subjects including PCI, payment fraud prevention, authentication, identity, big data and mobile payment security to provide a holistic view of payment security in the retail world.

In Opening up new Markets – the strategic role of payments, the topic of Integrating UnionPay will come under the spotlight, and a panel will discuss how retailers can reach can connect with their international markets, the different payment channels available and the variety of technologies that will have to be employed to provide customer choice.

WorldPay will be covering how to mobilise micro-merchant payments in ‘The Mobile Revolution’ stream which will delve into the reality of what mobile payments has in store for merchants/retailers, looking at key trends, technologies, and, above all, bringing some definition to this emerging area to provide some useful reference points and a clear route map for anyone daring to enter into today’s minefield.

A Future Proofing your Payments will be exploring how, in such a changing landscape, the retailer can have confidence in choosing the right options – understanding the winners and losers – in the battle for the future of consumer payments. Nick Rudd, Head of Loyalty Services, Weve and Jon Worley, The Logic Group will examine Interacting with the Mobile Consumer – it’s so Much More than Card Payments’; Alex Rolfe, Publisher of Payments Cards & Mobile Magazine will chair a panel discussion around ‘The Low Value Payment Debate – How Technology Finally Supports Small Transactions at a Fraction of the Processing Costs’; Brian Kilcourse, Managing Partner, RSR Research will present the latest findings from exclusive research ‘Retail Payments 2013: Has Mobile Finally Arrived?’ and Martin Fielding, CEO, The Cards & Payments Awards will be revealing the success stories behind the winners of The Card & Payments Awards 2013.
