Certified Cyber Consultancy

by Mark Rowe

Government and industry customers who need cyber security consultancy can now engage directly with six organisations, under a new CESG scheme designed to meet the demand for cyber advice. The first companies to be certified under CESG’s Certified Cyber Security Consultancy scheme are:

BNS Cyber
C3IA Solutions Ltd
Evolve Secure Solutions
Info-Assure Ltd
OCF IT Security Consultancy Ltd
Stratia Consulting

Between them, these companies provide CESG-approved consultancy on Security Architecture, Risk Assessment and Risk Management. CESG plan to introduce further service offerings during in the year. Public sector customers can procure cyber security services through a central route created with Crown Commercial Service, the Cyber Security Services agreement.

The CESG Certified Cyber Security Consultancy scheme, launched in June 2015 after consultation with customers and industry, now certifies services provided by companies – rather than individual security advisers. This revised approach makes it easier for organisations to respond to the growing number of increasingly complex cyber threats, at a time when industry and government are putting more services online.

Ciaran Martin, GCHQ‘s Director General for Cyber Security, said; “I’m pleased that we have certified these six companies. This is just the start of an ongoing process to build a wide pool of trusted cyber security advisors for our customers.”
