Vertical Markets

Cardinal CEO

by Mark Rowe

Cardinal Security has appointed Simon Chapman as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This follows the new ownership structure.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Chapman joins Cardinal from Lodge Service, where he was Sales Director and then Managing Director – doubling the growth of the company in less than eight years. Chapman was also Sales Director at G4S Security Solutions, and Sales and Marketing Director at Checkpoint Systems, where he worked for almost 17 years in the UK and abroad.

Chapman, pictured, said: ‘Thanks to company founder and former CEO Jason Trigg’s hard work and vision over many years, Cardinal Security has gained an enviable reputation for its intelligence led manned guarding and loss prevention services across the retail and logistics industries.

‘By building on this success, my primary objective is to ensure that the company is the security solutions provider of choice for these vertical sectors and beyond. In an industry dominated by either large scale, multi-service providers or smaller regional operators, Cardinal Security will continue to provide a specialist service that is tailored to the needs of its national customer base – thanks to our unique ability to offer a responsiveness and agility that others simply cannot match.’

Cardinal plans the redevelopment and expansion of its head offices in Great Chesterford, Essex. This will include the Cardinal Training Academy – a Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) Approved Centre offering security qualifications. Over the next few months the company will also introduce a control room and ‘intelligence centre’ – the hub of what the company calls an intelligence-led security approach that will gather, process and use data on behalf of clients to provide greater insight into their security needs.

Simon Chapman added: ‘It’s a very exciting time to be taking over the reins at Cardinal Security and it’s a challenge that I relish. With a new structure in place, we will be taking the business to the next level and delivering a more robust infrastructure to support our customers’ needs.’
