The UK chapter of the security management association ASIS International held an evening event in central London to mark its first 25 years; and had words of praise from the global body’s leaders. Pictured left to right are Richard Chase, the 63rd president of ASIS International; and Dave Clark, chairman of ASIS UK and the head of security at The Crick at St Pancras, and host. Among the other ASIS top brass there – on their way to the association’s annual European conference in the Netherlands – was Chief Executive Officer Peter O’Neil.
Before drinks and a bite to eat, attenders were briefed on the latest directions for ASIS in membership and personal development, and to the organisation overall; its annual exhibition in the United States for example, next running from September 23 to 27 in Las Vegas, has been re-branded GSX (Global Security Exchange).
Invited guests besides ASIS UK board members and committee leads included senior London police; Joe Connell, chairman of the Association of Security Consultants (ASC); and Jane Farrell, Head of Security, Sodexo for UK and Ireland, the chairman of IPSA (International Professional Security Association). Dave Clark in a short speech promised further events to mark the 25th anniversary of the chapter – at 750 members, the largest in ASIS outside North America.
