Ambassador meet

by Mark Rowe

Heather Myers, Director of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the Ambassador of the United States of America, Robert Wood Johnson, on St David’s Day at the Celtic Manor resort outside Newport.

The ambassador held a round table discussion with six Welsh businesses from a range of industries: sport supplements, semi-conductors, meat exporters, high tech coatings, concrete; and the access control reader manufacturer, Third Millennium Systems, based in Pontypool.

Proving that business can continue despite the snow, what the Chamber called friendly but candid discussion centred around the opportunities and difficulties of trading into the USA. The Chamber added that the ambassador was hugely complimentary about the innovation and diversity he had seen on his visit to South Wales and wanted to offer the support of the embassy to businesses looking to trade and invest into the USA.
