In the mailroom of Lloyd’s Bank Group Plc in Cardiff, Totalpost Services Plc has installed an Astrophysics XIS 6040 X-Ray security screening device.
It’s intended for screening incoming mail and parcels for hidden threats. The building receives over 200 items of mail and parcels a day, and each one is screened via the x-ray screening device. All of the post room, security and receptionist staff have been trained on the machine by Totalpost, and will continue to receive training as required. Totalpost is also providing full maintenance and servicing of the machine

The XIS 6040 is described by the makers as a compact machine that has tunnel opening dimensions of 60mm by 40mm for taking standard mailroom letters and parcels. It provides high resolution images. Theproduct is also used at prisons, courts and public buildings.
