Royal Albert Hall maintenance

by Mark Rowe

The Gloucester-based installer Allcooper is the new provider of fire and security systems maintenance and support for the Royal Albert Hall.

The Victorian building in London has more than 1.7 million visitors a year, including visiting dignitaries, and royals. Gerard Cooper, Managing Director of Allcooper, says: “Maintaining and protecting this magnificent building is no mean feat.”

Tony Gale, Facilities Manager at the Royal Albert Hall, says: “Life safety systems are of paramount importance at such a high profile public venue. Ensuring such systems are operational on a daily basis is a constant challenge. Allcooper have impressed us with their understanding of our particular needs and with the professionalism with which they have commenced this important new contract.”

The contract will see the installation firm embed complex systems over the next three years. Gerard Cooper says: “Assessing the fire and security systems requirements of the Royal Albert Hall is an intricate process and we are thrilled to be involved.”

The installer says that the focus first is to maintain the existing systems, but to also work with the Albert Hall team to update technology, meeting 21st century demands.
