National Grid support

by Mark Rowe

Eurest Services, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has been awarded a three-year contract extension to provide support services – including a green travel plan – to over 750 National Grid sites. It’s a contract extension with National Grid until 2016. This latest deal follows a partnership between the support services specialist and National Grid spanning two decades.

Eurest Services delivers to National Grid sites across the UK, including the National Control Centres for the country’s electricity and gas supply. Under the contract extension, it will continue to provide cleaning, security, foodservice, vending, pest control, business and guest services. The travel plan promotes sustainable modes of transport and is in operation at three National Grid sites. At Warwick, more than 500 car share groups have been established, eight coaches travel daily from major towns, a shuttle bus connects with the train station, and around 100 people cycle to work each day.

Steve Davies, Managing Director for Eurest Services, pictured, said: “Over the past four years we have significantly grown the scope and scale of the services we deliver to National Grid, and worked hard to identify and meet their changing needs. We’re delighted to extend this contract and look forward to further developing this relationship as a truly integrated partner for all their soft services.”

Simon Carter, Head of Corporate Property at National Grid added: “Our continued partnership with Eurest Services is a reflection of their support in improving efficiency and customer service on our sites. Our joined-up approach and consistent alignment with organisational goals will continue to be key in driving further value.”
