MoD contract

by Mark Rowe

Petards, the AIM quoted developer of security and surveillance systems, has been awarded a £0.6m contract by an unnamed major UK defence systems contractor to provide test equipment for use by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The contract is for the design, manufacture and supply of equipment that will form part of a Defensive Aids Suite system integration test rig that will enable the customer to do verification of electronic countermeasure configurations before installation on aircraft. Most of the equipment is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2015 and the project is expected to be completed early in 2016.

Raschid Abdullah, Petards Chairman said: “Petards has established a market leading position in this aspect of electronic countermeasures in the UK and we are very pleased to have secured this contract, which will enhance the test capabilities of our customer and add to the services it is able to provide to the MoD.”
