Fundraising for charity

by Mark Rowe

Employees of Axis Security have raised more than £5,000 over the last 12 months in a variety of fundraising ways to benefit UK charities. Pictured is the security company’s Gary Stanton finishing an Ironman triathlon.

While the security contractor has contributed to a number of worthwhile projects as a business – including building a community garden and an adventure playground for local causes – 2013 saw good deeds, endurance tests and entrepreneurial spirit from its employees across the country. Employees covered more than 1200 miles swimming, running or cycling (with many thousands more covered in training), and staff have also baked – and eaten – more than 30 cakes.

The combined efforts have raised some £5350 for charities that include Marie Curie, Breast Cancer and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Jonathan Levine, Axis Group CEO said:  “We are proud of their efforts and success last year, and we are pleased to see so many employees either getting involved or showing their support through donations.”

Among the next fundraisers Gary Stanton, Axis’ Commercial Manager, is preparing to take on the Cycle to Cannes challenge seeing him ride from London to Cannes in the south of France in six days. Against all the elements Gary will be putting in many hours of practice to complete the event in March 2014 and raise £3000 for a number of charities including Coram, Article 25, Tom’s Trust, The MSA Trust and the Emthonjeni Trust.
