Forest management

by Mark Rowe

Crowd safety services for the Forestry Commission’s June and July season of live music will be by AP Security. The contractor will work across all seven woodland locations around the UK.

The events were launched in 2001, and AP was originally contracted in 2003. In 2009 the security company’s remit was increased to cover all sites. AP’s National Sales manager, John Phillips, says: “Forest Live has gone from strength to strength and the Forestry Commission is now one of the UK’s top music promoters. The surroundings invariably make for a relaxed atmosphere and our staff thoroughly enjoy working there, which makes for a great experience all round.” Stressing the relaxed atmosphere, and the quirky nature of the sites, AP works with the event management company DB Event Services.

“We’re delighted to have been invited to work with the Forestry Commission again this year,” John adds. “And we’re looking forward to another summer of top class music in beautiful surroundings.”

Forest Live runs from June 14 to July 20, and sees dates from Paloma Faith, Jessie J, Blondie, Elvis Costello, James, The Charlatans, Olly Murs, Paul Wella, Jools Holland and The Script. For more information, visit www.forestry.gov.uk/music.
