Environmental audit

by Mark Rowe

After a full day audit by two ISOQAR auditors in January 2013, a pre-employment screening and background checking company achieved the requirements of the ISO14001: 2004 Environmental Management Standard.

Agenda says that it’s committed to being environmentally friendly and in recent years has introduced more recycling, paperless systems, and has bought more environmentally friendly products and company cars. The company points to its electronic time-sheets, replacement of light fittings with more environmentally friendly ones and the setting of specific targets to reduce waste and energy consumption, towards meeting the ISO14001 standard.

Norman Mortell (Director of Operations) said: “We have always cared about the environment and we also recognise that there are real business benefits to be had by making more efficient use of resources and so going for ISO14001 was a natural progression. We are very proud of the project team who led us to certification in what must be a record breaking four month period! ISO14001 now sits proudly alongside our ISO9001 (Quality Management), ISO27001 (Information Security), Investors in People (Staff Development) and Secured by Design (Physical Security) accreditations.”
