Emergency Services Show latest

by Mark Rowe

The Emergency Services Show, at the NEC on September 24 and 25, is one of the first exhibitions to have fully integrated with social software company GleanIn. Show visitors can now register using their LinkedIn profile to see who they know at the show.

The show organisers say that it offers similar benefits to exhibiting companies and their stand staff, enabling them to see which of their LinkedIn connections will be visiting the show and also offers the ability to invite others along. The system has been fully integrated with The Emergency Services Show onsite registration company Show Data Systems. When visitors register for the show using the LinkedIn option they can view a personal dashboard showing other visitors, exhibitors and speakers from amongst their connections who have already registered and arrange to catch up if desired. Visitors can also use the tool to arrange meetings with relevant exhibitors in advance of attending the event.

All exhibitors now order their show badges via the GleanIn registration. This then allows the exhibitor and their stand team to connect their LinkedIn profiles to the system and see, in real time, which of their connections are intending to visit. They can then use the system to arrange to catch up with the visitors they are connected to and invite other personal connections along to the show, before the event.

The event director David Brown said: “Networking across all the emergency services has always been at the heart of the success of The Emergency Services Show and a very high proportion of our visitors, exhibitors and speakers are actively engaged in LinkedIn and other social media. By adding GleanIn to our registration process we have been able to enhance the ability of all participants to connect before, during and after the event.”

“The Emergency Services Show’s active use of social media makes it an ideal candidate to be one of the first events to adopt GleanIn,” added Tamar Beck, CEO at GleanIn. “Our social registration tool adds to the Show’s acknowledged ability to connect people from across the emergency services and is creating new networking opportunities for visitors and exhibitors alike.”

Now in its ninth successful year, The Emergency Services Show brings together everyone involved in the emergency services – from the strategic planners and first responders, to the manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and services. Visitors can see over 400 companies and organisations supplying emergency equipment and solutions and can also attend free workshops, seminars and live demonstrations.

Entry and parking at The Emergency Services Show are free. The NEC is physically linked to Birmingham International Station and Birmingham Airport and is directly accessible from the UK motorway network.
