Command and control upgrade

by Mark Rowe

Surrey Police have upgraded their Intergraph I/CAD command and control system, including moving from in-house, on-site management in favour of off-site hosting using a third-party data centre.

Having first deployed I/CAD in 1998, Surrey had completed a number of upgrades. Before the current project, Surrey reviewed a number of options. They concluded that the combination of upgrading I/CAD with the move to hosting on an off-site data centre provided the best option financially, technically and operationally.

Having cut-over to live operation, the force now has the product firm says a modern, next-generation-ready command and control system.

Alun Pearsey, UK Country Manager Security, Government and Infrastructure, Intergraph U.K. said: “With complex undertakings it is essential to define shared objectives that enable everyone to work toward common goals. We fully concur with Surrey that a major contributing factor to the success of this project was the spirit of openness, trust and joint collaboration between the two organisations.”
