Bournemouth op

by Mark Rowe

High compliance with their licensing requirements was found by Security Industry Authority (SIA) investigators during an operation in Bournemouth on Friday, August 30.

During the operation, SIA investigators checked 34 venues, including pubs, clubs and shops. In total, some 68 security operatives were inspected. All those inspected were found to be working legally as they all held a valid SIA licence. There were eight warnings issued to security operatives for failing to notify the SIA of a change of their address, which is a breach of SIA licensing conditions.

SIA Head of Investigation Paul Cartlidge said afterwards: “These are very promising results and it is pleasing that the public can be reassured that they are protected by properly trained, vetted and licensed security operatives.”
