by Mark Rowe

A contract to service and maintain the perimeter security for ACC Liverpool has gone to the Bolton-based company Boundary Gate and Barrier. The venue, home to the BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, is on the waterfront, by the Albert Dock complex on the eastern bank of the River Mersey.

Head of Service for Boundary Gate and Barrier Alan Bolton said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Vinci Facilities and ACC Liverpool to maintain such a vital component in the success of the venue by making sure staff can safely and efficiently manage access and exit for visitors using the venue. I feel it is a real testament to the professionalism shown by the team and their dedication to provide a comprehensive and cost effective service.”

The BT Convention Centre houses a 1,350 seat auditorium, 18 break out rooms and 3,725 m2 of exhibition space expanding to 7,125m2 once opened out to the arena floor which itself has 11,000 capacity when staging events. The two venues are interlinked by an central galleria

The servicing and maintenance of perimeter security systems is something that many businesses overlook which can, in some cases, prove to be a costly oversight, according to the installer. Alan said: “Maintenance and regular servicing of security equipment is equally as important as making sure you select the right hardware. If it doesn’t work as it should then you leave your premises vulnerable.” Visit http://www.boundarygateandbarrier.co.uk
