Golf day cheque for centre

by Mark Rowe

The Videx Charitable Trust, established by Videx Security, recently donated £10,314 to The Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy. The charity is a specialist treatment centre that aims to improve quality of life for children so that they are healthy and active, and can participate in everyday life to the best of their ability.

The money, raised at the door entry and access control product company’s annual golf day, will be invested in the charity’s facilities and provision for the children it cares for and the families it supports and to enable the Centre to reach and help more children with cerebral palsy.

John Rickard, Managing Director at Videx, said: “The Bobath Centre is very close to my heart personally because my son was born with cerebral palsy and he was treated by the charity throughout his childhood. The Centre does wonderful work to improve the lives of children with cerebral palsy – my son is now able to work full time and he also does voluntary work at the Centre who provided invaluable support to him during his early years.”

The Videx Charitable Trust has supported The Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy for several years and has raised over £150,000 with Videx employees, business associates and friends donating.

Kevin Gillespie, Fundraising Manager at The Bobath Centre, added: “The support that The Videx Charitable Trust provides is invaluable. The money raised over the years has enabled us to treat hundreds of children and buy toys and equipment to support therapy. We can’t thank John and his staff enough for their commitment to us and the positive impact it has had on so many lives.”
