Announcement

BSIA technical manager

by Mark Rowe

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has appointed Stephen Lampett as Technical Manager, after two years as the association’s Technical Officer. This follows the resignation of Paul Phillips, who leaves the BSIA at the end of May to pursue a new role within the security industry.

With over 20 years’ security experience, Steve’s background includes several roles at ADT Fire and Security in various areas of electronic fire and security, including quality, environmental, health and safety and technical. Before his role at the BSIA, Steve worked as a QEHS consultant in the manufacturing and construction industries.

David Wilkinson, the BSIA’s Director of Technical Services, says: “I am very pleased to announce that Steve Lampett has accepted the position of Technical Manager, and will succeed Paul Phillips in the post from June 1. I wish Paul well in this next step in his career and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the significant contributions that he has made to the BSIA’s success over the past eight years.

“Over the coming weeks, we will be recruiting to replace Steve in the role of Technical Officer, to ensure that the Technical department remains at full strength to meet the complex and extensive needs of our members.”

Steve, pictured, says: “I’m very much looking forward to taking on a new challenge within the BSIA and assuming greater responsibility in delivering technical support and expertise to our members, helping to ensure they are best placed to deal with ongoing changes and developments in the standards and technical arenas.”

As a result of Steve’s promotion, the BSIA is now recruiting for a new Technical Officer. The trade body says that it seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated technical professional to work as part of a dedicated team providing a range of advice and guidance to BSIA members on technical issues relating to electronic alarm systems, physical security and manned guarding services. Those interested in applying can find out more by viewing the full job advertisement on the BSIA’s website: www.bsia.co.uk/about-us/vacancies.
