Professional Security magazine has been successfully filling the growing need to voice the opinions of the security industry and its users since 1989. We pride ourselves on our ability to drive forward the interests of the industry through our monthly publication of Professional Security magazine.

Anything with a security bias, anything topical, original, funny or a view point that you feel stongly about: every submission is given due weight and consideration for publication.

We are happy to receive any public relations material, but to help us to help you, please bear in mind the following :

P.R material supplied on disc with suitable good quality photographs has a greater chance of getting further than the editor's filing cabinet.

Items should be well presented and easy to read, in the formats detailed below:

i ) Sending Electronic Files & Data

Sending Adverts or Photographs Electronically

JTC Associates work on Apple Macintosh computer systems for all publishing functions as this is the preferred industry standard equipment. Any material which is supplied in Mac format in any of the major programmes will not normally cause a problem.

For the most part we are able to convert from PC format to Mac format. However, this is where problems of compatibility occasionally can arise.

Files can be supplied and converted from any storage media although preferred choices are Zip or CD.
Files can also be transmitted by ISDN line (+44 (0) 1922 411 191) or E-mail steve@jtc.u-net.com (often unreliable and slow with larger files).

We are able to use graphics documents created in Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand and Pagemaker as well as some others. Please remember to include source files and fonts.

For a picture to be of quality normally considered to be good/acceptable the image will need to be saved at 300 dots per inch (dpi) and at the actual size it is to be used (or larger).

Preferred formats for pictures are: EPS, TIFF, JPEG, BMP

Although other formats can be used. Please discuss with us if you are unsure.

ii ) Sending Text Electronically

We are able to convert most text documents to a usable format but this is made easier if they are saved by the client in TEXT format.

We will be happy to discuss customerís particular requirements - preferably at an early stage in the process.
