The Master’s Charity Appeal 2006

The Hear4u charity was launched in June 2006 as a service for Freemen and Members of the Company of Security Professionals and their families providing medical and health related guidance and support. Our objective is to enable individuals to return to good health and gainful work as soon as possible.

The services are designed to comply with the Company's charitable objectives by advancing and protecting the welfare, education and wellbeing of potential beneficiaries engaged within the security profession and, in particular 'to administer benevolence to any deserving members or immediate family of the profession, at the discretion of the Trustees.

There are three aspects of the service:

• Access to web based information.

• A confidential 24 hour Help Line which provides medical advice and counselling by qualified staff - irrespective of means or circumstances.

• Access to therapeutic and rehabilitation services in deserving cases, access to which shall be subject to qualification thresholds determined by the Trustees.

Our professional telephone counsellors care greatly and are able to help with anything from emotional issues to stresses at work and at home, including depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, bullying, debt, bereavement and health issues. They also have access to many other specialists, advisors and support agencies.

We have now extended the service. Any one can access the Hear4u website including the detailed medical link. We have also invited members of The Security Institute to use the Confidential Help Line and give them access to one on one medical treatment. In 2007 we anticipate that this will be extended to other members of the security profession.
